Data Integration

Substation Assistant™ consists of software modules aimed at data integration and automated analysis for variety of substation IEDs. Substation Assistant™ includes data analysis for digital fault recorders (DFR Assistant™), digital protective relays (DPR Assistant™) and circuit breaker recorders (CBR Assistant™).

Automated Analysis

DFR Assistant™ software tools perform automated analysis and classification of digital fault recorder (DFR) files. Wide range of DFR products from different vendors, as well as models and vintages from the same vendor can easily be configured and customized to fit specific application requirements.

Managing Digital Relay Data

Common source of substation event data are digital protective relays (DPRs). DPR Assistant™ software tools provide functionality of importing and manging digital protective relay files. Currently supported file formats are digital relays from SEL and GE, but the open architecture allows adding support of any other digital relays available on the market today.

Monitoring Circuit Breakers

CBR Assistant™ is a solution for monitoring circuit breaker (CB) operations by recording signals available inside the circuit breaker control circuit. A newly developed intelligent electronic device Circuit Breaker Recorder (CBR) is mounted in the CB cabinet. It is connected through wireless link to the substation control house and includes software for data collection, integration and viewing

Testing Protective Relays

Relay Assistant™ is a product line for the application testing of protective relaying equipment. Particular focus is on generating transients aimed at acceptance and troubleshooting tests. The options also include both the phasor steady state and dynamic fault playback.

Testing PMUs and PDCs

PMU Assistant™ is new product line for evaluationg and testing of phasor measurement units (PMUs) and phasor data concentrators (PDCs). In addition to basic compliance tests, the focus is on identifying customer needs and specific requirements and then perform application tests.

Modeling Faults

Tools such as Batch Generator (BGEN) and Transformer Fault Analysis Assistant (TFAA) enable the user to focus on the problem of performing tests instead of the modeling details. BGEN interfaces Relay Assistant™ to EMTP/ATP models for easy-to use modeling of faults. TFAA is a wizard-like tool for easy modeling of internal transformer faults based on BCTRAN model.
