CBR Assistant™

Circuit Breaker Recorder (CBR) is a new type of substation intelligent electronic device (IED) designed specifically for monitoring circuit breaker operations. The CBR Assistant™ product line provides hardware and software for an in-depth insight into circuit breaker operations.

CBR Assistant™ Features

• Monitors 15 circuit breaker control signals to assure reliable assessment of CB operation.
• Stores recorded events in IEEE COMTRADE file format.
• Collects data in the switchyard and transmits it to the substation control house through wireless link.
• Integrates all CBR data at corporate level by uploading it to a centralized database.

CBR Assistant™ Hardware

• Offers 16 digital and 16 analog inputs for monitoring variety of control circuit signals.
• Provides fast data acquisition and communication using 32-bit CPU with flash disk.
• Uses standard frequency hopping spread spectrum radio modem for wireless connectivity.
• Assures high speed event-driven recording for both breaker open and close operations.

CBR Assistant™ Software

• Provides functions for data collection, automated retrieval and module configuration.
• Extracts main signal features related to circuit breaker open and close operations automatically.
• Reports results from multiple CBR operations of one of several CBR units.
• Enables easy viewing and analysis of recorded CBR data with web-based tools.
